Most of the school contacts were initiated by sheriff's deputies and not by teachers/ educators. Of these self-initiated calls conducted by the deputies themselves, the deputies engaged with black students at higher rates (deputies sought to engage with and penalize black students more than any other rate) 

Black high school students in Lancaster come into contact with sheriffs deputies at disproportionately higher rates than any other race on campus. At significantly higher rates, Black students in Lancaster are more likely to get issued citations, suspended, or expelled than any other race on school campuses.
While composing such a low percentage of the school population (20%) Black students account for more than half of on-site deputy contacts (60%).

The data indicates that Black students were placed in the backseat of a patrol vehicle, stopped for non-moving violations, had a firearm pointed at them, and searched at disproportionately higher rates than any other race group.
